Save the Planet with the Big Green Bike Ride

An adventure on two wheels, the Big Green Bike Ride is a two-day event that takes participants from the heart of London to the peace and tranquillity of the New Forest – helping to raise money and growing awareness of environmental issues along the way.

Many of the cyclists taking part in the event spend the night before in the city – if they can find a bike-friendly hotel in London – and do the full two days in the saddle and camp for the night along the way, taking advantage of the excellent camping amenities in the New Forest.

Finding Yourself In A Lost Garden

The old market town of St Austell is a civil parish and major town of Cornwall. It is situated a couple of miles from the coast, 10 miles South of Bodmin and 30 miles West of the border with Devon. For centuries the town was known for its mining industry until the mid 18th century when William Cookworthy, a chemist from Devon discovered large deposits of kaolin/china clay in the area. The mineral is not only used for porcelain but an array of industries including paper, pharmaceuticals, and textiles.

Facts on fish and chips!

Fish and chips: the dish most people think of when they think of Britain. You’ve not lived until you’ve gone to the seaside, sat on a bench with your fish and chips and attempted to eat them with the wind blowing your hair in your face and seagulls trying to steal your grub.

I thought I’d write a post about fun facts on fish and chips so don’t blame me if you get a craving for them and have to nip to your nearest chippy. Tip: have them wrapped in newspaper – for some reason they taste so much better!
